Course Introduction

In the Professional Manicurist Certificate course, students will be trained to perform the full procedure for natural nail care for the hands & feet services with our carefully designed teaching syllabus. Students will be learning and completing practical sessions, coupled with detailed theory explanations to ensure full understanding of every detail in performing full manicure & full pedicure in a nail salon or starting their own salons. Apart from the detail step by step practical correction sessions, the course also emphasize heavily on understanding of sanitation, disinfection and diseased nail problems met during their work as a professional manicurist in the actual salon working environment.

 

Course Objective

To equip students with in depth understanding of the Natural Nail Service both theoretically and practically.

 

Learning Outcome

Students will achieve in depth understanding of the theoretical knowledge in term of sanitation, nail anatomy as well as nail diseases and the proper way to execute a nail service. Students will also acquire high level skill in performing manicure services to achieve versatility in application of techniques necessary to deal with different situations that could be encountered in the actual salon working environment.

Course Duration


Duration: 69 Hours

The course can be taken in the below time frame:

Part Time:

– Day Time (1 months), classes will be conducted from 12pm – 6pm and will be on a fast track.

– Evening (2 months), classes will be conducted from 6.30pm – 9.30pm, this is the normal track.

– Saturday (2 months), classes will be conducted from 12pm – 6pm, this is the normal track.

Entry Requirements

•   At least 12 years old & above.
•   Academic : PSLE or Certificate in relevant field.
•   Language Proficiency: PSLE or equivalent in English or Mandarin.
•   Students without formal education should have at least 1 year of work experience.

Examination & Assessments

Assessment for this course comprises of in-class practical mock assessment and course assignments, which contributes a fraction of the total marks to determine the final result after the students sit for their Theory and Practical Examinations. Students will have to register for Theory and Practical Examinations. Professional Manicurist Certificate will be awarded base on the overall result after passing the Theory and Practical Examinations together with computation of results from their Mock Assessment and Course Assignments.

 


Course Awards

Upon meeting all Graduation Requirements, you will graduate with a Professional Manicurist Certificate (A.PRM) by PRINA.

 


Progression Pathway

The Professional Manicurist Certificate serves as a pathway to the entry requirement for the Diploma in Professional Nail Technology and forms part of the module in the Diploma in Professional Nail Technology.

 


Graduation Requirements

Students will need to achieve a minimum attendance rate of 80% and achieve minimum of 80% in their total examination score computed with the following;

1.    Theory Examination (20%)
2.    Manicure Practical Examination (50%)
3.    Course Assignments (20%)
4.    Mock Assessment (10%)
